Did anyone see the immediate on other voices last night. I thought they were very good, quite different to most of the new irish bands around. I seen them last night at the a gig in Cafe en Seine for the french festival the day fo music I cant wait to get their ep when it comes out.

I believe that it's an album that they've got recorded. I saw them open for the Wrens in London last Saturday and I thought they were pretty good. Wasn't too impressed with them last night though. We might need to give the Humanzi fans here a break, every single band that I've seen on Other Voices this year have sounded like s**t so maybe they are better then that TV appearance suggested.

I've got to agree, the sound on Other Voices is atrocious. They don't seem to have a clue how to cope with volume.

i dunno, you're probably all tv or sound types so you could fill me in... but i always got the impression that live music on the telly always sounds atrocious... certainly the other voices cd's have always had great sound quality

i thought they were fantastic as always but their performance, like many others was tainted by pretty awful sound. even the camera work was fairly shoddy for some of the performances though hal seemed to have had a really good sound engineer cause their set sounded amazing. been waiting on the immediates album for ages so i cant wait for it to come out, i think its gonna be something special.

i was talking about the immediate there, not bellx1 off the post. bellx1 were ok though im kinda so-so about them. i was hoping that tim their drummer would bust out from behind his drum kit with his neosupervital shades and give a performance of his own.

Bell X1 were ok, played it fairly safe with 2 songs off music in mouth, i thought they would have just played a few songs off flock. Yeah sound wasnt great but still thought the immediate looked good. I agree that the album could be great alright, not too much longer til we find out anyways though

Later......with Jools Holland usually nails the sound of acts playing on the TV. Other Voices is still on a massive learning curve about where they want to go with it and how it will appear. It should be applauded though for booking diverse acts (including Irish one's) and trying to have a go.

I think the Church idea is old now, twas good for the 1st & 2nd series, wen it was based on acoustic artists. Hopefully it has shown RTE that there is a market for a proper live music show, more than a slot on the Late Late Show (when most of the target audience arent watching)

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. The Immediate are (probably) the best indie band in Ireland, and one of the best in 'the British Isles'. I've been ranting and raving about them since I got the 'Don't Get Lost' EP a few years ago at one of their gigs. They play Crawdaddy next Wednesday for those of you who are interested

Thought the Immediate were really good last night, in particular the first song. Lovely guitar sounds and generally engaging. A cut above anything else I have seen from this series

Wouldnt agree that Later with Jools get it spot on. Last year, the National played and i thought the sound was poor. generally I find the vocals too low. Thought Editors sounded dead flat too, although i think theyre boring anyway. But yes, it's still better than Other Voices...

The Immediate were pretty good, but did anyone else cringe when the drummer came out and did his Mick Jagger impression? He was a much better drummer than the other lad too...they need to knock that craic on the head.

EP is out at the end of March. Wouldn't agree with cringing when the drummer came out to sing. He jumps off the stage at nearly every gig and has a great voice in my opinion. Very talented band. The Instrument swapping only adds to it. They play Antics @ Crawdaddy next wednesday and it's only €4 by the way!

Repeat of their episode of Other Voices is on tonight. I think it's at 11:50 - there or thereabouts. Super super band. I love how they had them do 'Aspects' out on the edge of a field or something. I kept expecting farm animals to stroll by in the background. Agreed, sound is a wee bit s**te. xm

Saw the immediate in the sugar club a month or 2 ago. I really liked them. Lively on stage and enjoying their music. What its all about.
