The Chalets and The Radio have been confirmed as Ireland's representatives at the annual Eurosonic Festival, which will be held in Groningen, Holland on 12 and 13 January 2006. The Eurosonic Festival is Europe's biggest live music showcase of the year with over 130 acts playing in 15 venues across the city. Six national broadcasters will provide recording facilities, ensuring the live acts are recorded and distributed to all major European radio stations. Both The Chalets and The Radio will play on Thursday 12 January and RTÉ 2fm will carry their shows live from Holland. In the past, RTÉ 2fm has sponsored acts including JJ72, The Frames, Bell X1, Hal, Iain Archer and Bass Odyssey.

saw them play the Music Centre during the HArd Working Class Heroes thing. Really, really poor live - the band looked like they had just met a few mins before going onstage. The new singer is a poor photocopy of Annie Tierney. Very disappointing cos their album is one of the great ones from the last few years

well, she has to sing someone elses songs in someone elses style. in fairness, anyone would end up a photocopy.
