BUSTED GO BLUE BUSTED have revealed that they are TORY supporters. Charlie Simpson admitted the trio were Conservatives in a magazine interview. "I don’t really like politics but I’ve always grown up with their view – the Tories' way of doing things. I just prefer it," he told Tatler. The confession comes in a week when the Conservatives have revealed their interest in pop. Tory co-chairman Liam Fox recently admitted that he was a Scissor Sisters fan while defence secretary Nicholas Soames said he likes Dido. Band mate Matt Jay, who once voted Liberal Democrat, added: "Yeah, actually, you know what, I am not going to be ripped off anymore. From the financial position I am in now, I am a f**king Tory boy too." ********************************************************************** OK not to bring things to a heavy tilt but can I just ask does anyone else get the urge to you know, react violently towards such apparent manipulation. Old stuff here, yeah. But so are clips of tennis balls hitting men in the groin and they are still as effective now as the first time you've all seen them. (Strange way to put a point accross, too much coffee again) So heres my question: Is this a good thing in that it might at least distract kids from space hoppers or what ever the newest craze is for five minutes to give them some sort of awareness of the world around them or is it just plain twisted and desparate?

I think that it will at least get kids to think about politics. Any kind of social and political awareness is good. Imagine Westlife having an opinion!

I just think its funny that Busted claim to have an interest in politics. I wonder, if you asked our beloved Charlie what Tory policies he agrees with, would he be able to name one?

    - I actually think that Charlie is a smart bloke and at the risk of starting a riot here on the forum I think he is becoming a good songwriter.

Beg to differ. I read an interview with Busted a few weeks ago and they might have come across as not being the most stupid, smart wouldn't be a word I'd used. And the whole becoming a good songwriter bit? He openly said himself he writes music for kids with the intention of being a sell out!

Becoming a sell out when you are songwriter doesn't really figure. Look at Guy Chambers - great songs sung by Robbie Williams. If you are a songwriter I'd imagine that you'd want your songs to be heard by as many people as possible. Year 3000 is a great tune. I know Im going to get some serious savaging for this one but thats what I think.

No worse than the usual bout of Bush-bashing from the likes of Springsteen, Jesse Malin, Coldplay (the list is endless)zzzzzzz. Now that's what I call "apparent manipulation".

Maybe being conservative is the new anarchy!
