    HOUSE OF DOLLS

The noise made by Dublin's House Of Dolls is bad to the bone hard edged psychedelia. Epic build-ups, darkened grooves and glorious vocal melodies comprise their sound. Still very much a new band, House Of Dolls front with the maturity of a group who have occupied the dark spaces that their music takes you, and whose sophisticated list of influences, although notable could never outshine the raw passion of their recordings or live show.

    THE MIGHTY ATOMICS

Formed in the summer of 2008, The Mighty Atomics are proof that there’s more to rock ‘n’ roll in Ireland than a certain singer from the Liberties. A far rougher version, throwing surf and punk into the mix, they released their debut album in September, following it with a three week European tour across Germany, Spain & Italy that culminated with a support slot to, yes, Imelda May at the Olympia. THE SYNDICATE

A fairly new band but one that has already been causing quite a stir around Dublin & come highly recommended. One for the future we think so watch this space?

    TRIPLE DROP

A dangerous energy, from where The Clash, The Specials and The Pogues left off, mixed with pumping back beats and dirty bass lines a la Soulwax and LCD Soundsystem, Triple Drop's live shows never fail to impress. An eclectic, dynamic band with great character they are straight to the point.
