As all Irish musicians/bands/song writers will know ... getting their package together on a shoe string budget is a tall task . Rehearsals, Equipment , Gigs , CDs, Websites etc ... A decent promo is another tool many would love to have to showcase their tracks ... But there is just not enough people out there filling this gap . And if there is they are charging prices that most cant afford . How can bands etc get access to these film makers and vice versa ?? . We are crying out for this gap in the market ... But it seems not many people want to know ....

you could do a lot worse than drop Neosupervital a line, his first couple of videos as far as I'm aware were shot by young film makers on a shoe string

and quite superb they are to. The man would be only to happy to offer any advice I'm sure.

Borrowed DV camera, some video editing software and a bit of creativity, sorted. Yes Irish bands can get promos made cheap if they or their friends have the slightest spark of initiative, talent and creativity, as they did in the past. DIY ethic, just go for it. It's not gonna be a super slick MTV production but that's not neccesarily a bad thing.

Sort of a daft question to be honest?

Hot Press also run competitions for bands to get made by visiting american film students. But you might be seen buying Hot Press though - there's always a downside!

good call, The Frank and Walters had their 'Fight' video shot by an American film maker studying in Dublin, and what a fine job it is
