Just after finding this out. This is terrible news. A real loss for Dublin. We need to get out there and support the remaining indie shops

I've never even been in there. :(

Moved to Dublin 15 well over a year ago, but don't get much chance to go into the city centre, last time I was in it was a sunday and there were closed. Shame they're gone because their status is legendary and so many irish bands would not have got a physical music release out without them. Looks like indie releases will just have to use the interweb now (e.g. indiecator)

popped into road today and picked myself up a few things. bought 3 cds; Goodtime John, Hey collosus and the hunt club. looking forward to checkin them out. it's such an incredible shame that we're losing that shop. and I definitely feel guilty as hell that I haven't been in there more over the last year. I can't think of anyother shop in Dublin that put's more effort into promoting unknown music as they do. I bought those cds based purely on the reviews on the front.

I was talking to Dave, he said they're shutting the shop down at the end of January. He said they can't really afford another month's rent on the place. He said he hopes they can keep the website going. He said the website will just be for irish music. He also mentioned the possibility of a download website. Whatever they do, i wish them all the best.

you don't know what you have til it's gone :(
