Headgear, without a doubt! Absolutely stunning album. Saw them at the electric picnic and they are amazing live too! |

It was hard to pick just one, but I think Nervousystem (can you correct the spelling Eoghan or is it too late?) had just that little bit extra. A Lazarus Soul and Cathy Davey were the surprise albums of the year though, both breathtakingly good. Flight Cases was excellent too, only sorry I missed out on Headgear live when I was in Limerick recently. |

Thom Yorke's "Eraser" is blatantly missing from this list.... it's far superior to "In Rainbows". |

Just exercised the franchise there - looks like it'll be a close-run race between at least five of the list. Looking at that list (apart from one or two singer-songer-shouters on it) makes you realise that it was a fine year for Irish music. Hooray for us! |
