Can we please get over analysing every mini-event in the dreary timeline of this band? If I wanted that, I'd just go read the Ticket.
Obviously you do, if you're dragging up a THREE AND A HALF YEAR OLD thread !! |

Una was hanging a picture in her bathroom. She stood on the toilet but the porcelain was wet. She slipped and banged her head and when she came to, she had a vision of the Flux Capacitor....which...makes...all...time travel...possible.... |

Goede Dag Noot. Alles goed? I lived in the Netherlands for a while too, and I have absolutely no idea where you got "the Dutch public is not exactly well behaved" from. I went to dozens of gigs in The Paradiso, Melkweg, Tivoli in Utrecht and Nighttown in Rotterdam. Never saw one person get aggressive, rude etc., - not once. You're virtually guaranteed to be annoyed by some gimp at every Dublin gig.
One thing I noticed was that bands from the US or Japan, really gave it socks during their Dutch gigs, happy to be there and all. Bands from the UK, didn't care one bit. The anglophonic part of Europe thinks it has one up (culturally) on their continental compadres. Worst ever was Badly Drawn Boy who went on a rant about why he's so respected in the UK and that the audience didn't deserve his talents. His bass player had to coax him back on stage and get him to apologise. What a sap! And it was a terrible concert.
Maybe Mr. Hansard missed his adoring Whelans groupies? Maybe people kept saying "Hey it'sh dat guy who mimed de guitar in De Commitmentsh!!". Maybe the Frames are just gash? |

I didn't realise I was answering an old thread, because I didn't look at the date. For some reason, it had been bumped up the board. |

Rift in the space-time continuum maybe. That's enough from me. |
