Marley Park is a crap venue though. Would be better if they played Electric Picnic but can't have everything.

Macaroni and Cheese please! No, seriously, it's not a joke, it's true. "While the precise dates have yet to be confirmed, Hot Press can exclusively reveal that Morrissey and Radiohead are both playing separate gigs this summer in Dublin’s Marlay Park. Thom Yorke and co are being supported by Beck who’s currently readying a 10th anniversary edition of Odelay. He’s also applying the finishing touches to a new album that he’s been assembling for the past two years with A-List producer Nigel Goodrich. According to a well-placed source, Radiohead are also close to completing a new record, which is likely to feature ‘Bodysnatchers’ as its flagship single." There's also a rumour doing the rounds that Arcade FIre are going to support Morrissey

Wow that's some seriously good stuff. I'd rather Marlay Park than the Point any day though. That's where I last saw Radiohead and Morrissey and I would of much preferred the whole outdoor buzz.

I'd have thought that unlikely, they don't seem too interested in touring right now and are holed up in a Church working on the second album. They aren't playing any of the US festivals either.

Hmmm... These rumours are getting a bit out of hand aren't they? I mean, this board is becoming a bit 'fantasy-festival' isn't it? Anyone hear that Princess Di has recorded a duet with Bright Eyes?

nah, it's not may radiohead are playing marlay park on august 24th with the tickets going onsale via ticketmaster on friday if you're a member of waste (the merchandising wing of the radiohead operation) then there a limited few on pre-sale tomorrow at midday, if you're not a member no point in trying to join now as they've suspended people joining until after the pre-sale which is fair enough

I wouldn't worry too much about the Marley Park, whoever wants tickets on the first day will get them, they only sold out a second night at the point the week of the last gigs in December '03 and that's 16,000 over the 2 nights so 17,000 won't go in a day. They'll be gigging before the album is out too.

i can log into the Members area but can't get onto the ticket page. I think that pop-up asking for your login details is trying to tell you it's locked until the 22nd (tomorrow)

beck hasn't been confirmed for the marlay park show but i'd imagine it's just a formality as they have confirmed that they will be touring together in the summer time. as for the tickets i'd imagine that they will go fairly quickly although maybe not in a day....a beck support would really make it more of a double headliner gig, the summer/outdoor element will sway a lot of people, the fact that they won't have played here in three years and that those gigs in the point years ago were months after 2 olympia shows, 1 waterfront show and a glastonbury headline slot..... either way i'm going to try and get some tickets for their theatre shows in amsterdam in may - new material + intimate setting = heaven

nah, i've been on it solidly since midday - no joy! a msg has gone up on the official radiohead board saying that "the presale is delayed and come back later" ....not very specific! if i was just after dublin tickets i'd chance my arm on the general sale next friday but the amsterdam theatre tickets will be long gone by then!

Got tickets for London on the 18th, then the next day it's off to ATP. Eat it bitches I hope you guys get through. Took long enough to get them though. Apparently there was a banking problem that was only discovered at 11:30 and the tickets weren't actually released until 15:30 which lead to some very pissed off people who had been frantically been hitting F5 for hours. You should check out some of the fansite to see people coming more and more deranged as time went by.

Im still having no joy either. Glad to hear people are getting tickets though but Im not relishing the thought of sitting in an internet cafe all night after work. I got tickets to the Olympia gigs straight away, no hassle but that was at 7 in the morning I suppose.

From reading, the radiohead messageboard, i get the impression that you had to be regisstered on the message board to get tickets. is this correct. is it not enough that I was registered with waste. All i get is the username/password (site maintenance - back in 15 mins) dialog. Im using www.waste.uk.com, is this the right address

klootfan, Go direct to http://tickets.waste.uk.com it's the secure ticketing site and it bypasses the waste mainpage You'll just be asked for your e-mail address, I wasn't asked for my waste password, in fact it asked me to create a new password. I'm regged on both waste and the official board with the same address but my impression was that you just needed to be a waste member.

glad you all got through in the end - after spending a good 5 and half hours siamesed to my computer yesterday and recording the most unproductive working day of my life, i finally got dublin and amsterday tickets......only to check waste this morning and see that there are still tickets left to both!! still i probably wouldn't have slept well last night had i not secured tickets...sad. but true. and yeah the official radiohead msgboard is crap whereas the hysteria of the 'at ease' one is just hilarious

Ah nuts, that sounds more like it alright. I was thinking it was a bit cheap alright for the only band to ever bring a merchandising tent to Glastonbury. The point gigs were round about the 55 euro mark too.

Is that the www.mortigitempo.com one? I spent a few hours lurking there yesterday watching people go slowly mad, I think the post that simply said "f**k YOU JESUS" was the highlight for me. Tickets still available for Amsterdam, it's been a while since I've been, tempting but I think not.

no the at ease one is http://www.ateaseweb.com/mb/ as for amsterdam, if you've never seen them in a theatre setting than you really should consider going - very different to the big arena/open-air shows

I was at the Olympia on the first night of the Hail To The Thief Tour, I actually thought they were better when I saw them later in the year at Glastonbury and The Point, they were a bit rusty but still wonderful the first night. But they played Nude at the point so that trumps almost anything.

Id have to say seeing Karma Police at Glastonbury was as good as it gets for me. When Thom came back out on stage on his own with no guitar, and 100,000 people sang "for a minute there, I lost myself". First night in the Olympia was amazing too. The fact that the album hadnt even been released yet everyone knew every song within seconds of the intro from a little synth beat or some distortion.

the bass line is fantastic on that alright. Bit of a suprise when they played it but they seem to play it live all the time now.
