You know, bands you wish were still on the scene but arent due to circumstances like tragedy or artistic differences... Mine are: 1: Guns N' Roses 2: Jeff Buckley 3: Mexican Pets 4: Led Zeppelin 5: Alice In Chains/Dinosaur Junior I'm assuming some little puke will put nirvana in their list somewhere just to annoy me... There you have it.

faith no more - miss them the most. metallica (some metallica fans may know what i mean) alice in chains soundgarden thin lizzy/phil specifically. (i also want to admit to liking a-ha songs, but im not sure i miss the band. BONE TO PICK: u2 certainly liked the a-ha tune"the sun always shines on tv". so much so that beautiful day was an exact copy of a large chunk of the song. and it has been judged on in a court of law so i'm not just full of rubbish, as i often am.)

Rev, Not sure if it was tongue in cheek...(I suspect it is) but BA Robertson hasn't gone anywhere - he's alive and well and working on some gospel influeneced stuff - makes a change from football tunes then!

    1. The Avalanches (Yes, technically still a functioning unit, but when will we ever get that second album? 2. Luscious Jackson 3. Galaxie 500/Luna (even though the decision to split Luna recently was probably for the best) 4. Rollerskate Skinny 5. Sharon Tandy (a voice that good should not be allowed to go to waste) The only reason Talking Heads don't make the list is that David Byrnes solo stuff is so good.

I know The Seahorses did have a poppy side to them but they had some good tunes. Plus their second album was a lot better than the first. More rock n roll than pop.

Guns N' Roses were the greatest "arena" rock band of all time. They performed better on ALL stats than the likes of Aerosmith, Metallica, Van Halen... Also, you had 2 of the strongest creative minds in music since Page & Plant. Rose & Slash were amazing together. And when you listen to lyrics like Estranged, Dont Cry, Patience, Locomotive & Civil War, you can see why they outlasted other L.A. hair bands such as Poison and Motley Crue. Their songs were genuine. They werent played with a less than subtle knowing smile. I'm biased though. Guns have always been my favourite band. Thats why all the hubbub. And the porblem now is that, the new line up, is new blood. it aint slash or duff. Those boys are tied up with Velvet Revolver and Slash's Snakepit...So Guns' new stuff wont be nearly as good as the old stuff, especially the Use Your Illusions s**t. But the record probably wont ever come out. Its been put back to November '05...AGAIN! Axl's lost it, it would seem. i mean, he was never really there anyway, but he's really far gonr now. Um...what was the question? I trailed off all over the place.

just curious binokular. No alternative motive. Your 523 posts suggested you were a dab hand in the music world & knew your stuff and was great to see Rollerskate Skinny mentioned. Drummer is a friend thats all. We enjoyed the buzz of seeing them in the Hot press top 100 @ number 14. Super band even though I am biased!!!! I do talk crap sometimes!

A House, what an utterly fantastic band, some of the best lyrics ever penned by an Irish band too. I haven't had an opportunity to hear his stuff, though I believe Dave Couse solo stuff is pretty good.

Well, good news. Nick, according to pitchforkmedia it seems that Cream are to reunite for a series of live dates in the Albert Hall, London. Also Disraeli Gears will be reissued as a 40 track 2 CD set.
