It's a deadly line-up, I think The Things are amazing... really horror show!! Listo are pretty cool too, I saw them in a tiny place a few months ago, Toners I think, and they really rocked. Saw them on the VOdafone advert too! Can't wait... HOw come Keith Moss is the mc?? Will he be playing?

A cracker of a line-up. Have had the pleasure of seeing all three, each with a little (Actually alot) different to offer. Loved when The Things lead singer fell of the stage in whelans supporting Colm Quearney - brilliant frontman!!

i dont think anyone will begrudge paying five euro for the night we had last night... it was hot, it was sweaty and that was just gettin up the stairs! Thanks to all who turned out, much appreciated. well done to ALL 3 BANDS who were outstanding. i got some great shots and they will be on soundweb.ie this weekend. SPOTTED: BP Fallon/Roger Woolman (THE music photographer) getting nearly accosted by THINGS front man Neil. He let them off though... probably just as well... VILLAIN OF THE NIGHT: Decibel-reading-jump-switch a la UCD = this feckin thing nearly ended the gig before it started. Robbie Brady's hotwiring skills came to the fore and saved the day. HERO OF THE NIGHT: said Robbie Brady, Bassist Things. What did y'all think?? www.soundweb.ie

they were excellent Dromed, you are bang on there... they took the start of the gig by the scruff of the scrotum and never looked back. what with having 3 bands on, the set was a little shorter than perhaps we all would have liked - so we'll keep an eye/ear out for their next appearance. did you see that monster amp - i think it went all the way up to 11, not 10, that one goes to 11... www.soundweb.ie

Folks, thanks one and all for showing your support, and you truely did as Da2 had it's biggest mid week showing ever, with over 120 punters! And with showings like this, it enables us to keep putting on these nights, bringing you cutting edge Irish talent. The bands were fantastic, the music was loud, tempers were frayed, the crowd were sweaty, we kept it real... where were you???

A pat on the back from me! Brilliant night. Really well organised, no fannying about inbetween the three bands, who by the way I was most impressed with. I like that the three bands are totally different yet each hold themselves with as much class as the next! My earlier comment on the things frontman still stands! Hope the mic is ok! Looking forward to seeing the pictures of this 'Triple Headliner' on Soundweb!

On the subject of Robbie being the hero, where do I go to meet this guy, its just that I have a casio calculator watch and shes been acting up, it could do with his touch. Anyway on to a less serious note, the gig last night was excelent, all three bands really pump my nads. I can't wait to see Minline and the Things on september 5th in Dorans. Any chance you's could get us on the guest list, this isn't Shaun.

Stationary mic stands - how about those Madonna/Telesales-style headsets!!!!!!! I've seen the things a good few times and i have to give it to him - He's one of the most entertaining frontmen I've had the pleasure of seeing. Between breaking the stage in the Castle Inn, falling off it in whelans and swinging the mic out the window in Toners he manages to sing well and never get dirty!!!!

Yeah he was there...lookin' a bit decreped (sp?) though. He waz taking photos too so maybe they'll turn up somewhere! Yeah that was a killer amp alright! "It goes up to 11..........y'know......ONE LOUDER!!" PS - Just heard Supergrass are playing in the Ambassador 11th October, night after Death In Vegas...Oooo sooo many gigs not enuf cash!! All we need now are our fav. bands to start getting some good support slots with the decent bands that are coming over here to play and show them that Ireland has the same level of talent. Maybe then our bands wouldn't have to struggle so much.

Just as Dromed mentions how hard it is for Irish bands in Ireland at the moment, it ties in with the very concept behind SOUNDROOM. We aim to create a decent platform for bands under a triple header billing so that if people are out there scouting for talent they will realise and appreciate that if they drop into SOUNDROOM one night, even on spec, they will find genuine talent on offer. And this may will definately help bands to broaden their appeal, and hopefully attract the bigger supports. So may I add that if anyone out there reading is in a band and wants to play in SOUNDROOM please drop on line to soundroom@cluas.com or check out www.soundweb.ie where you will find relevant phone numbers. We aim to take the hassle out of organising gigs for bands, and aspire to creating a cool night out for punters. Keep the comments coming!!

carol, Here's some basic info to get you started... www.soundweb.ie www.mainline.moonfruit.com Listo: Vodafone advert!!! If that's not enough drop me a line on soundroom@cluas.com Great to hear you enjoyed the night, and plans are afoot to bring the fantastic Hirise to the masses very soon, but if you can't wait check them out this weekend in the sugar club, but beware, the crowd will not be the mad-up-for-it posse that you witnessed last night!!

The Things went down a storm in Bangor - very suprising as there was drink being had since we got on the train at 11 that morning. They ran through their set with the usual class and debauchary (a paradox I know, go see them and you'll see what I mean!) and were loved by all! They were followed by the Keepers, a band who should definitely be checked out when they visit Dublin in November. The night ended with the two bands teaming up for a smashing version of 'Gloria', after about 10 mins of searching the premises for the over-intoxicated NEil and Robbie (Singer and Bass player). A big thank you to the Keepers for their amazing hospitality yet again. Check out their website www.thekeepers.here.co.uk

Tried to see some classic moments captured on Thursday at Da2 but to no avail. Is it my pre '63 computer or what? I have a severe case of the mid-week blues and need cheering up!!!

hi all i never got to go to the gig in da2 that wedensday seems like it went well would of lovin to go and see the mainline again ive seen them twice before and i really think there one of the best bands ive heard in years and can you believe they come from dublin we dont usually produce such bands its mostly left up to the uk. i think these lads have a great look, fantastic amount of talent and complement each other in a way bands like ride, the verve and the stone roses captivated not too long ago i read that there playin in eamon dorans on the 5th of sept, ill definatley be there and it would be good to see a good turn out there to cheer them on cmon the mainline john thank you
