Hi.Rise return to the studio this Christmas to record a follow-up single to ‘One Man’s Poison’, the summer single of the year that earned them a prime slot at this year’s Witnness Festival, courtesy of Today FM’s Pet Sounds Show. The new single ‘Long Distance Runner’ is the band’s third release and will be produced by Decal’s very own Alan O’Boyle. A video by the multi-talented Del-9 (of Max Thundra fame) will accompany the anticipated release. Following their riotous appearance at Witnness, Hi.Rise have been keeping busy with live radio performances, and support gigs with the likes of Paddy Casey, and The Walls in the Ambassador Theatre. The B- side of their last single, ‘Loverash’ which has been receiving regular play on Spin FM, has been included on the soundtrack for the upcoming Irish film ‘Gold Fish Memory'. Due for release in early February, the film’s soundtrack already boasts contributions from The Frames, The Walls, Nina Hynes and Creative Controle. Together since 1999, Hi.Rise have developed an electrified-soul sound that has earned them a reputation as one of Dublin’s premier live bands. They take to the stage Thursday December 19th in the Temple Bar Music Centre for an end of year show. Hi.Rise will debut new material on the night accompanied by those musical brats Listo, along with DJs and visuals from the fantastic DanJarMan. This promises to be an excellent gig. Hi.Rise would like to take this opportunity to invite you to they’re end of year show! They are - but not until later as part of Screamadelica as far as I am aware. Hi.Rise are on at about 10 bells, Liston on around 9 I'd say.
