Anybody see Q's top 50 albums of the year? I see Gemma Hayes got in there but why not Damien Rice who got **** (4 stars)? Supergrass shoulda been included too, instead of Radiohead's live album which was pointless and crap.

Did Mundy get reviewed in Q at all? What did they say? As for the Radiohead live album...it is pish!...but still far worthier than Damien bloody Rice...

Gosh, Gemma Hayes gets a lot of mentions on this site. I think her album is fairly good but I much prefer Nina Hynes' staros album, her songs are better written and her voice works well on more levels. She's great live too. With respect to Gemma Hayes, what a shame Nina's living in her shadow 'cos she'd feature higher in my top 50 than Gemma. Oh well, there you go Q2 P.S If Radiohead recorded themselves pissing on a guitar, Q magazine would make it the record of the year. They really worship that band to a ridiculous extent.

Their website is q4music.com but I don't think the Top 50 is on it, probably only in the magazine. If you have no luck, I can scan it and email it to you if you like. Respond to this thread if you want it. Q2

Personally, I prefer Uncut although they are rather fawning of all things alt.country and their lead articles tend to be a bit seventies. HOwever, the writing is defo better than Q and the monthly CD always throws up 1 or 2 brilliant new acts. Uncut should have their top 100 out this month or next. I'll be surprised if Ryan Adams doesn't get it but they are pretty much on the ball (i.e. Radiohead will not be rated highly). On a personal note, Radiohead haven't done a thing worth pissing on since OK Computer - the remind me of the worst excesses of 70's concept albums. Look out for Rik Wakeman doing 20 minute keyboard solos on the next album.
