Boa Morte's second album The Dial Waltz picked up some great reviews on its release recently (see below).
The band are now following on with a single release and a series of countrywide gigs in November.
Album available on iTunes, Amazon, HMV, Plugd, Tower and lots of other places.

The Smiths have been voted the most influential pop band of the past 50 years in an NME poll. Fair enough you might say, but what I love is the London Independent Newspaper has run an Editorial about this! Check it out at:

There was a time...back in the dim and distant past...when buying a concert ticket was relatively easy. First of all, there was PUBLICITY. Your favourite band announced that they were touring. If you were lucky, they were playing in Dublin. After that it was a simple endurance test. You turned up at Golden Discs or HMV or whoever, the doors opened at 9 o'clock and you BOUGHT your ticket with cash. If it was a popular act...your U2s and so forth...you might have to queue up for a few hours before...

AOL who own Bebo yesterday announced that they are thinking of either selling it or shutting it down:

The nominations are no longer a mystery....place your bets!!For my money it's a fairly disappointing list lacking in imagination! This is pure genius. Aside from the great man delivering a haunting version of an anthem for our times, the retro cross-fade camera shots are lovely. (There's one that's held for a second or two in pure '70s styleee.) In case you missed it, a couple of weekends ago there appeared the latest NY Times op-ed from Bono:www.nytimes.com/2010/01/03/opinion/03bono.html Credit where it's due: this one is fairly readable and interesting. However, the Napoleon of Killiney is always good for one cringe-inducing moment, and this article has a cracker: 'In Ireland, at the height of the “Troubles,” it was said that the only solution for rabid sectarianism was to let 1,000 punk-rock bands bloom...' Of course.
