Citizen Cope: New kid on the break

Ciitzen Cope, a Brooklyn songwriter, has been championed by Bono, Eddie Vedder and Kelly Slater but his rise to public notice was first prompted by surf filmmakers using his music in their movies. Last winter he played the North Shore and now he looks set for Stateside success as the latest of a new school of surf music artists.

Surfing magazine was wisecracking recently that regardless of Ben Stiller's recent entry into contemporary surf music as a video director he won't be calling Tamayo Perry off a Second Reef Pipe bomb any time soon. Whatever, here is his video for Jack Johnson's song 'Taylor' and very funny it is too.

I think I am addicted to YouTube at the moment, anyway this is a trailer for a new animated movie called 'Surfs Up' that slyly parodies the documentary 'Riding Giants', Kelly Slater is one of the voice over artists included and Red Hot Chilli Peppers appear on the soundtrack.
